Cole Drops “4 Your Eyez Only”

Cole Drops “4 Your Eyez Only”

A week after Cole surprise announces his album, he delivers and dropped “4 Your Eyez Only” on Friday at 12:00 midnight.

From my point of view, The album is definitely worth listening, as expected from just about any Cole project. The album as a whole delivers as a mini-biography of a man that ended up dying. The album has a myriad of emotions and concepts within each song. It addresses many topics: the racial barrier between whites and blacks, love for the streets, love for a woman, self reflection, existential thoughts…

It’s a lot to take in on one listen.

While the concept as a whole was executed to near perfection, individually I think there’s some lumps. Songs like “Deja Vu” and “Foldin’ Clothes” while lyrically contributing well, didn’t sound like they quite belong in the audio department. Nonetheless they’re both good songs, and that’s just a nitpick I had.

I personally loved this project, Cole is my favorite rapper and I’m always glad to hear new music from him.
